Apologies and inspiration

I want to apologize for being absent from the blog for so long. I had intended to post a couple of times last week but my mind has been a little clogged with issues and I didn’t feel like I was in the right place mentally to give any form of advice or journal. Life is so crazy, just when you think you have figured out or have it together it throws you a curve ball. Anyway, I have been doing okay, living in the amazing grace that covers me. Blessed and loved by an amazing God.

I will try and get back on my regular posting schedule but before I do that I have this video(I know you love those). It’s a sermon from a convocation about two weeks ago at Liberty University that is really good and I know it will inspire you.

Time for a sermon jam!

I haven’t been doing this much lately. I don’t know why, so here it is. A sermon jam I really like.

I know I’ve said it here before but I really like Matt Chandler. He is one of my favourite preachers and I love how He always says it as it is. Hope he inspires you today.

God bless you!!

I was on twitter yesterday and apparently it was bash on Kim Kardashian day on my timeline. I don’t really follow her life or her shows or anything, but her being such a high profile celebrity, I know the basics. well at-least what I’ve seen on my timeline and on Facebook. Personally I am very disgusted by how easily people can kick others when they’re down. Honestly, when did celebrity turn into a cloak of invincibility? I can’t imagine what it feels like to mess up and know that millions of people know what I did and will judge me for it for the rest of my life. I’m a regular person and I stress out to the point of depression sometimes for my unknown sin blow it up times a million and I would probably need an asylum or something. Life is hard for everyone, and no one needs a constant reminder of their mistakes. I feel really bad for famous people. It’s a difficult lifestyle to choose to live.

I watched some show that was trying to explain celebrity and the spiraling that happens in most celebs lives at one point or the other. The report claimed that celebrities have some form of narcissistic syndrome or something. Basically, they were trying to put it all on the celebrity and their choices. I get that we all make our choices and all of that, but the public have to take some responsibility for the madness. If it wasn’t for the public’s insane need to know every little detail about these peoples lives, and the love for tragedy, things would not be this bad. Fame is like a drug, once you get that high, you want it more and more. If the only time you get the attention is when you do something crazy, then why would you do anything but that? After all your career depends on it. We are responsible for ourselves, but we are also responsible for each other.

Kim Kardashian is trying to clean herself up, pick up the pieces and people throw her past in her face? Honestly?!  We drive people to the edge then wonder how they got there. It’s really sad, how hard it is to encourage others and I’m tired of seeing all the celebrity tragedies! A little compassion goes a long way. Rehab can only do so much.

I was happy to see a few positive tweets to her though, but not enough. We need to change how we do things.Show some compassion, give a little grace.

My top 3 shows to watch in 2012

Yes, I know this is a little bit out of character for me, but I blog about things that affect me personally and t.v is up there on that list.

I watch a lot of t.v shows, honestly I could very easily be a t.v critic. I like to be entertained. Sadly though, nowadays most of what’s on t.v is mostly trash, with a little nudity and sex to distract you from that fact. Honestly, very few show that have nudity and sex have content. Think about it.

Anyway, that’s besides the point. There are these three new shows out, barely 3 seasons out on average an they have been able to get me hooked. Proper story line and good acting.

1. Alcatraz

I’m assuming most have watched or at least heard of this show. The first time I heard of it, I thought it would be the cliche prison drama but alas! A twist. It’s quite exciting and 4 episodes down and i’m getting a head ache trying to piece it all together.

2. The finder

This show is very goofy, and considering it more drama than comedy it completely sells it to me. The acting is pretty good and the main actor is quite a fascinating character. You can watch it for the detective work or for the comedy. Either way it’s worth watching. It’s  just 3 episodes in so you can catch up.

3.  Touch

Keifer Sunderland! If that hasn’t sold it already, I don’t know what will. This is a little twist on numb3rs and some movie(i can’t remember which one), point is, it’s a rare plot and with only one episode down, you know I have to have really loved it to recommend watching it. It’s going to be big. Trust me.

The coolest part about the shows is they actually have content that stands on it’s own without needing to sell it with sex. I can’t say that for a lot of shows. For the record i’m not saying all show with sexual content are bad, i’m saying most of them are.

Others I watch every week are glee, happy endings, modern family, criminal minds, one tree hill, idol, ncis, fringe, chuck royal pains and the mentalist.
